Arrest Made In Brooklyn Park Carjacking: Police

A Baltimore man was arrested for carjacking a woman's vehicle in Brooklyn Park, police say.

BROOKLYN PARK, MD — A man has been charged with a Brooklyn Park carjacking after the stolen car was found in the city of Baltimore. Anne Arundel County Police say Melvin Edward Lee, 57, of the 2700 block of Bookert Drive of Baltimore, was armed with a handgun on Oct. 6.

He allegedly approached a woman about 7:10 p.m. in the 5109 Ritchie Highway in Brooklyn Park as she was walking to her vehicle. Lee reportedly showed her that he had a handgun and demanded her car keys. The victim complied and Lee drove off. The woman was not injured during the carjacking, police say.

Anne Arundel County detectives were notified by Baltimore Police that the woman's stolen vehicle was found in the 2700 block of Bookert Drive. Officers executed a search warrant and found Lee in the basement; he was arrested without incident.
