Baltimore Father Pulled Gun On Son's Coaches, Charged: Prosecutor
The man pulled a gun from his waistband and told the coaches, "You better put my son into the game," according to charging documents.

BALTIMORE, MD — A Baltimore father is facing multiple criminal charges after prosecutors said he pointed a gun at his son's coaches during an elementary school basketball game last week.
In charging documents obtained from the Baltimore City State's Attorney's Office, police said Troy Antwaun Spencer, 48, was upset that his son wasn't playing in a game at Leith Walk Elementary School and confronted two coaches.
According to prosecutors, Spencer pulled a gun from his waistband and told the coaches, "You better put my son into the game."

The incident happened around 4:50 p.m. on March 6, Baltimore police wrote in charging documents.
According to police, Spencer and one of the coaches got into a "brief physical struggle" over the gun. The coach tactically disarmed Spencer, police wrote, and later stored the weapon in his car until officers arrived at the school.

A witness who fled the school with her children told police she saw Spencer get into his car and leave the school following the confrontation, according to police.
No one was injured during the altercation, police said. Spencer was arrested after witnesses identified him in a photo lineup, according to charging documents.
Spencer faces 23 charges including assault, reckless endangerment, illegally possessing a weapon on school property, and illegally possessing a firearm with a previous felony conviction, according to charging documents.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 18 in Baltimore District Court.
