Baltimore Man Killed At Brother's Funeral: Report

The man killed at a Baltimore area cemetery Wednesday was reportedly attending a service for his brother, who was also a murder victim.

A Baltimore man gunned down at a cemetery this week in Baltimore County was reportedly attending the burial service for his 18-year-old brother when he was killed. He was one of two shot at the Mount Zion Cemetery Wednesday afternoon, and police said the other victim remained critical Thursday morning.

Maurice Brown Jr., 32, died Wednesday, officials said.

Brown, of the 300 block of Lyndhurst Street in west Baltimore, was at the funeral for 18-year-old Marcus Brown, who was shot and killed Aug. 25 in the 1400 block of North Mount Street in Baltimore City, police said.

The man who died Wednesday afternoon — Maurice Brown Jr. — was his brother, according to Fox 45.

Officials said they were called to the 3900 block of Hollins Ferry Road for a report of a shooting at 12:43 p.m.

Just before the service at the cemetery was to begin, officials said a cluster of men branched off from the graveside gathering, and gunshots rang out in the smaller group.

Maurice Brown Jr. and the 25-year-old victim were both shot in the upper body and were taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, police said.

Brown was pronounced deceased, officials reported.

The 25-year-old was in critical condition Thursday morning, according to authorities.

Police said that the crime was targeted, and there was no further danger to the public.
