Baltimore Police Increase Patrols Near Infrastructure After Manchester Attack
City officials are monitoring information about terrorist activity and acting accordingly, Baltimore Police reported.

BALTIMORE, MD — Police ramped up coverage in certain areas of Baltimore in the aftermath of the explosion overnight in England that killed more than a dozen people.
"We have increased patrols and checks to some of our vulnerable infrastructures and facilities where large gatherings of people may occur," Baltimore Police Chief of Media Relations TJ Smith said in a statement.
"As with all incidents of terrorism or suspected terrorism, we monitor and receive information through the Joint Terrorism Task Force," Smith said, and the department was keeping Mayor Catherine Pugh informed.

Authorities are investigating the explosion that killed at least 22 people and injured 59 others Monday night at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England, as a terrorist incident.

On behalf of the Baltimore Police Department, he continued: "We extend our heartfelt sympathies to those affected by the senseless act of terrorism in Manchester."
