Baltimore's Classic Five Golf Courses to host 21st annual Turkey Shoot

Thanksgiving morning golf outings at Pine Ridge, Mount Pleasant, Forest Park & Clifton Park Golf Courses, FootGolf outing at Carroll Park

Baltimore Municipal Golf Corporation (BMGC), also known as Baltimore’s Classic Five, today announced it will host its 21st annual Turkey Shoot outings on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 24, 2015. Golf outings will be held at Pine Ridge, Mount Pleasant, Forest Park and Clifton Park golf courses, while a special FootGolf outing will be held at the Craig Willinger Memorial FootGolf Course at Carroll Park.

“We’re excited to announce the 2016 Turkey Shoot. In their 21st year, the outings have become a time-honored Baltimore tradition,” said Jon Ladd, BMGC’s Executive Director. “Golfers around the area look forward to the Turkey Shoot each year, jumping at the opportunity to get in a fun round of golf with family and friends before Thanksgiving festivities begin at home later in the afternoon.”

The Turkey Shoot outings will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. at Pine Ridge, Mount Pleasant, Forest Park and Clifton Park golf courses, and the Craig Willinger Memorial FootGolf Course at Carroll Park.

At the Craig Willinger Memorial FootGolf Course at Carroll Park, the Turkey Shoot outing will feature a “Captain’s Choice” format, with prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams, and closest to the pin and longest drive contests. At Clifton Park Golf Course, the Turkey Shoot will feature a “Captain’s Choice” format, with prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams, in addition to contests for closest to the pin and longest drive. While there will not be a team competition at Mount Pleasant, Forest Park or Pine Ridge golf courses, there will be prizes for closest to the pin on par three holes.

The registration fee for Turkey Shoot golf outings, including breakfast, greens and cart fees, and various contests and prizes, is $59 at Pine Ridge, $48 at Mount Pleasant, $45 at Forest Park and $55 at Clifton Park. For the FootGolf outing at Carroll Park, a $20 per person registration fee includes greens fees, a continental breakfast and various contests and prizes. Soccer balls will be available to rent for $3.

Space is limited at each Turkey Shoot location, so golfers must pre-pay to reserve a space. Golfers can register for one of the Turkey Shoots by visiting or calling any of the respective golf course pro shops. The Turkey Shoots will be held regardless of weather.
