Baltimore's Classic Five to Host Baltimore Golf Week
One-week celebration of golf in Baltimore to raise funds for YouthWorks, Baltimore City's summer jobs program for youth and young adults.

Baltimore Municipal Golf Corporation (BMGC), the nation’s first nonprofit organization dedicated to the management and operation of municipal golf courses, today announced it will host Baltimore Golf Week featuring the Mayor’s Cup, a one-week celebration of golf in Baltimore.
From May 26th to June 3rd, Baltimore City golf courses will be holding events to celebrate golf and raise funds for YouthWorks, Baltimore City’s summer jobs program providing employment to thousands of youth and young adults. Featuring the ValStone Partners $1 million dollar hole-in-one contest at the Pine Ridge Golf Course Driving Range, a $50,000 hole-in-one contest at Forest Park Golf Course, a FootGolf outing at Carroll Park Golf Contest, and more, Baltimore Golf Week will culminate with a tournament on June 3 at Forest Park Golf Course to determine the winner of the first Mayor’s Cup.
“We are thrilled to announce that Classic Five Golf will host Baltimore Golf Week and the first-ever Mayor’s Cup,” said BMGC’s Executive Director Jon Ladd. “Baltimore Golf Week will provide a great opportunity to showcase all five of our beautiful golf courses and raise funds for YouthWorks, an amazing program that provides summer jobs for thousands of youth and young adults.

Classic Five Golf will host a series events during Baltimore Golf Week. Proceeds from all the events will go toward YouthWorks. Baltimore Golf Week events include:
- $50,000 Hole-In-One Contest at Forest Park Golf Course (May 29th to June 2nd)
- Qualifiers (May 29 to June 1) - For a fee of $5 for one shot or $20 for five shots, golfers can attempt to hit a golf ball that stays on a temporary green that is 5 feet in diameter and approximately 100 yards away from the driving stations. All golfers that are able to do this qualify for the finals of the $50,000 hole-in-one contest. This is open to only amateur golfers. A complete qualifying schedule will be available soon.
- Finals (June 2) - A hole that is 135 yards away from the driving stations will be set up on one of the Forest Park Short Game Practice Facility greens. All golfers that qualified for the finals will be able to take one shot at a hole-in-one and the $50,000. The schedule for the Finals will be available soon.
- ValStone Partners $1 Million Hole-In-One Contest (May 29th to June 3rd)
- Qualifiers (May 29th to June 2nd) - For a fee of $5 for one shot or $20 for five shots, golfers can attempt to hit a golf ball that stays on a temporary green that is 5 feet in diameter and approximately 125 yards away from the driving stations. All golfers that are able to do this qualify for the finals of the million-dollar hole-in-one contest. This is open to only amateur golfers. A complete qualifying schedule will be available soon.
- Finals (June 3rd) - A temporary green and hole that is 165 yards away from the driving stations will be set up. All golfers that qualified for the finals will be able to take one shot at a hole-in-one and the million dollars. The schedule for the Finals will be available soon.
- Junior Golf Kickoff Reception and Tim Sanders Plaque Dedication (June 2nd)
- On June 2nd, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., a cocktail party reception will be held at the Forest Park Golf Course Clubhouse to celebrate junior golf in Baltimore and to dedicate a plaque commemorating Tim Sanders, the longtime PGA golf professional at Forest Park who passed away in 2015. Guests will need to purchase tickets to attend this event.
- Mayor’s Cup (June 3rd)
- At Forest Park Golf Course, the Mayor’s Cup golf outing will be held. All sponsors of Baltimore Golf Week will be provided a foursome to play in the Mayor’s Cup. A select number of foursomes will be made available for purchase by non-sponsors. The foursome with the lowest score will be awarded the Mayor’s Cup.
- The schedule for the Mayor’s Cup events:
- 7 a.m. - Player registration, breakfast, and player warm-up
- 8:30 a.m. - Shotgun start-18-Hole Scramble format
- 1:00 p.m. – Lunch
- 2:00 p.m. - Awards Ceremony and check presentation of funds raised during Baltimore Golf Week
- The schedule for the Mayor’s Cup events:
- At Forest Park Golf Course, the Mayor’s Cup golf outing will be held. All sponsors of Baltimore Golf Week will be provided a foursome to play in the Mayor’s Cup. A select number of foursomes will be made available for purchase by non-sponsors. The foursome with the lowest score will be awarded the Mayor’s Cup.
- Other Baltimore Golf Week Events
- Skills Contests – Will be held during the week at selected golf courses. The dates, times and locations of these skills contests will be released soon.
- FootGolf Outing - Will be held at the Carroll Park Golf Course. The date and time of the FootGolf outing will be released soon.
- At all golf courses during the week, golfers can enter to win a complimentary foursome at that golf course each time they purchase a greens fee. A drawing will be conducted at each golf course at the end of the week to determine the winner.
Sponsorship opportunities for Baltimore Golf Week include Tee Box Sponsor ($500), Beverage Cart Sponsor ($2,000), Par Sponsor ($5,000), Birdie Sponsor ($10,000), Eagle Sponsor ($15,000), Double Eagle Sponsor ($20,000), and Platinum Sponsor ($25,000).

YouthWorks is Baltimore City’s summer jobs program for residents between the ages of 14 and 21. Each year through YouthWorks, the Mayor’s Office of Employment Development (MOED) connects thousands of teens and young adults to meaningful summer work experiences throughout the city. Participants work in a wide variety of industries, including health care and social assistance, hospitality/tourism, finance, construction, the arts, and environmental/green jobs. YouthWorks is operated by the Mayor’s Office of Employment Development, with the assistance of employers and workforce partners, and with financial support from a variety of contributors.
