Kona Grill/RA Sushi Joins Sheraton Inner Harbor, Morton's & Cheesecake Factory as Closed Dwtn-Biz

January 20, 2026 - The "Charm'tastic Mile" of Baltimore (CTMB-1.3) www.thecharmtasticmile.com. The chic & famed 1.3 mile corridor located in the heart of Charm City (Est.1975) that connects Dwtn-West, the Inner Harbor & Harbor East (S. Greene & W. Pratt Street to S. President & Fleet Street) that is now listed on Google search as one of the Top 10-15 Most Famous Streets in America is reporting the start of the New Year for Dwtn-Charm City hospitality has taken a big hit like a in his prime Ray Lewis would do when tackling opposition.

Kona Grill & RA Sushi (inside of Kona's space) has closed temporarily according to the Baltimore-location website. Through contacts the company has plans for remodeling the heart of The "Charm'tastic Mile"/ Pratt Street restaurant, eyeing reopening this Spring/Summer.

Renaissance Hotel guests this past weekend from New York, Philadelphia, New Jersey, D.C. and other parts of the country were surprised at the closing. They were part of a Nationwide Line Dancing group of over 600.

Carol from New York says, "I've been there before on previous visits, I enjoyed the fish tacos, sushi rolls, burgers and margaritas". RA Sushi joined Kona Grill this past Spring in a combined branding effort.

This comes after the devastating news that Sheraton Inner Harbor, Morton's Steakhouse & The Cheesecake Factory (this coming Jan. 24th) would all be closed permanently leaving visiting tourists to ask, "What is going on in downtown Baltimore". The Sheraton opened in 1985 and remained a major Inner Harbor hotel for decades. When Camden Yards opened in 1992 the Sheraton was the official hotel for the Orioles.

The Sheraton Inner Harbor, Morton's, Kona Grill/RA Sushi & Cheesecake Factory are all within 2 1/2 blocks of one another. When temperatures warm Baltimore Convention goers and those coming to B'more for a vacation-stay will see a lot of vacancies all within 3-4 blocks.

"We have to remain positive, the long-time goal is 4-5 years out. The "Charm'tastic Mile" will continue to promote the city and its Iconic 1.3 mile stretch. 2026 marks our 10th Anniversary of being introduced to Charm City. The New Renaissance on the horizon is something we all should focus on", says Derrick E Vaughan of The "Charm'tastic Mile".

Baltimore Restaurant Week (BRW) Forks-off this coming Friday. There's a marvelous selection of local-area restaurants to choose from during the 10-day stretch (Jan. 23 - Feb. 1). Morton's, Kona Grill & Cheesecake Factory won't be participating. All 3 make a big-loss to the brand of Baltimore. 2026 marks the 20th Anniversary of BRW.
