The concert will be all original arrangements and tunes by Breck Cherry and Nate Harrigan that pay homage to the tradition while also experimenting with their own sound.
Breck Cherry is a trumpet player, composer and arranger from Miami. He has experience with solositic music as well as big band and section work. His musical journey started in primary school with the drums. He moved onto trumpet at age 13 and has since played at many prestigous festivals and venues such as The Jimmy Lyons Stage at the Monterey Jazz Festival, Carnegie Hall, Vail Jazz Festival, The Amazonas Green Jazz Festival in Brazil and The Classical Tahoe Music Festival. Breck has recieved mentorship from many illustrious figures in the jazz medium such as Terrell Stafford, Sean Jones, Mike Rodriguez, Gerald Cannon, Bryan Carter, John Clayton, Gerald Clayton and many others.
