City of Baltimore: Mile-2-Mile Series Cubs vs Orioles Homestand Game-1 O's Lose 5-2, Game-2 6:35 PM

July 8, 2026 - The "Charm'tastic Mile" of Baltimore (CTMB-1.3) www.thecharmtasticmile.com. The chic & famed 1.3 mile corridor located in the heart of Charm City (Est.1975) that connects Dwtn-West, the Inner Harbor & Harbor East (S. Greene & W. Pratt Street to S. President & Fleet Street) that is now listed on Google search as one of the Top 10-15 Most Famous Streets in America is reporting the Mile-2-Mile Series for  Orioles vs Chicago Cubs.

The Cubs beat the Orioles 5-2 last night on 10-hits. The Chicago pitching staff had 12 strikeouts. Starting pitcher Matt Boyd pitched 6-innings, 0 earned-runs, with 7Ks and two-walks. The Orioles had their chances, but couldn't break-through. Game-2 tonight with a scheduled 6:35 PM start.

The baseball gods and the MLB created a great scheduling scenario for the Famous Streets & Sports Culture In America-Baseball. The Orioles last-homestand they went 2-4 winning the 1st game vs the Washington Nationals 3-1.

They would lose games 2 & 3, 4-3 and 6-4. The Birds would then host the Chicago White Sox in their Annual Mile-2-Mile Series Charm City-version. Chicago won the first two-games 8-2 and 9-3, the O's avoided a sweep winning Game-3, 6-1.

Back in early April the Orioles went on the road and swept the White Sox beating Chicago 2-1, 4-2 and 5-3 in the Windy City-version of the Mile-2-Mile Series. Those are not the same Chi-Sox 3 months later at 47-42, who are leading the AL Central Division.

Starting Tuesday-Thursday will be the Mile-2-Mile Series Part II vs Chicago Cubs (50-42), the Orioles (42-49) last-homestand before the All-Star break. The Cubs will be rolling down The "Charm'tastic Mile" to Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Baltimore is coming off winning (2-1) the 3-game weekend series vs the Cincinnati Reds.

The Cubbies are playing good baseball with a 7-3 record in their last 11-games. They are coming off 1-2 (3-game) series loss to their Division-rival St Louis Cardinals. Game-1 saw the Cubs crushed by the Cards 17-1, the 16-run defeat at Wrigley Field was a surprise to Cubs Land. Game-2 was a 3-0 shutout and Game-3 the Cubs rallied to win 6-4 to avoid a home-sweeping loss by St. Louis.

Chicago in their final 3-game set vs the San Diego Padres on July 1st scored an MLB 2026 high 23-runs vs the Padres in a 23-3 smashing of San Diego pitching. The Cubs smashed-out 17-hits. Two-days later on July 3rd the Cardinals scored 17-runs on 17-hits. The White Sox had 17 combined runs vs the Orioles in Game-1 & 2 of their Mile-2-Mile Series last-homestand.

The 23-runs is the highest run-total for one team this season. The Colorado Rockies are the only other team to reach that plateau when they beat the A's 23-9 on June 14th.

The Chicago Cubs & White Sox play in the backdrop of The Magnificent Mile and the Orioles play in the backdrop of The "Charm'tastic Mile". The Mag Mile & "Charm'tastic Mile" are both USPTO www.uspto.gov (R) trademarked streets. This is one of the major factors for the creation of the Mile-2-Mile Series concept.
