Annual Baltimore Dragon Boat Challenge set to take place in historic Fells Point at the Frederick Douglass Issac Myers Maritime Park on July 25, 2026
Dragons make a glorious return to Baltimore as the Annual Baltimore Dragon Boat Challenge splashes into a new home at Frederick Douglass Isaac Myers Maritime Park (1417 Thames Street, Baltimore, MD 21231) on Saturday, July 25, beginning at 8:00 a.m. More than 24 teams from Annapolis MD, Washington, DC, Bucks County, PA, Charlotte, NC, New Jersey, Philadelphia, PA, and Pittsburgh, PA will compete in thrilling 500‑meter, 2000‑meter, and a special Star‑Spangled 250‑meter race. The event is presented by the Baltimore Dragon Boat Club and proudly sponsored by Harbor East, Catholic Charities, and Living Classrooms Foundation. Spectators can enjoy a lively atmosphere featuring a DJ, food vendors, and additional on‑site activities. Race heats will be determined by fastest times, with top teams advancing through a competitive semi‑final elimination round. The Baltimore Dragon Boat Challenge is an officially sanctioned ERDBA (Eastern Regional Dragon Boat Association) event. Admission is free.
