For the encore performance of this year’s Salon Concerts of Baltimore season finale, we are delighted to present an all-French program of music for flute and piano. Flutist Amanda Dame and pianist Carter McMullen will perform duo and solo works by Caplet, Fauré, Hüe, Debussy, Sancan, and Poulenc. A journey through the Late-Romantic and Impressionistic periods building to the Modern era, the program will be full of captivating melodies, lush harmonies, and exciting energy!

Flute soloist and chamber musician Amanda Dame is known for her vast breadth of repertoire and thematic programming. She has presented solo recitals at notable venues including Troy Savings Bank Music Hall in Troy, NY, Anderson House and the Arts Club of Washington in DC, and The Mainstay in Rock Hall, MD. Amanda has been a featured performer in the Friday Noon Series at the Peabody Institute, and the Danenberg Honors Recital at Oberlin Conservatory.

Amanda received first place awards in the National Society of Arts and Letters Woodwind Competition in Washington, DC, Best Mozart Performance at the global Great Composer Competition Series, 2014 Central Ohio Flute Association Young Artist Competition, 2013 Rochester Flute Association Emerging Artist Competition, the Stephan Scholarship Competition, and the Tommy Ippolito Scholarship.

With a love for teaching that has spanned 10 years, Amanda is co-founder of the Virtual Woodwind online academy for adult amateur musicians, and she has an online flute studio. She is the Music Director at the Bryn Mawr School.
