Join the Baltimore Children &amp; Youth Fund for a free virtual orientation and walkthrough of the Summer of Possibility application. During this informative session, the BCYF team will review the application, funding expectations, eligibility considerations, and review criteria.
This webinar is part of BCYF's free Pre-Application Technical Assistance package. In addition to scheduled sessions, applicants can access virtual one-on-one support and asynchronous support by email September 1–29, plus individual feedback debriefs December 15–23 following award decisions.

Nuclear Ship Savannah, Pier 13 Canton Marine Terminal, 4601 Newgate Avenue

Come experience a time capsule of the atomic age – the world’s first nuclear-powered merchant ship, the Nuclear Ship Savannah will host a public site visit on Saturday, August 22.&nbsp;Savannah operated as a passenger/cargo ship from 1962-70, serving as a floating ambassador promoting the safe and peaceful use of nuclear power as part of President Eisenhower’s Atoms for Peace program. The ship will be open for tours from 10am to 3pm, where you can experience its mid-century modern interiors, engine and control rooms, and other spaces, just as passengers did during its operation. In addition, you can now tour the formerly off-limits containment vessel, which housed the nuclear reactor – truly a unique experience! 
As the decommissioning process comes to an end, Savannah is looking for a new home – so don’t miss your opportunity to visit now to learn more about the ship’s future, and how you can be a part of helping to find it a new home (maybe even in Baltimore)! 
Savannah is located at 4601 Newgate Avenue, Pier 13 Canton Marine Terminal. Please note no open-toed shoes or heels, and the ship has limited accessibility for those with disabilities. Kiddie Academy of Roland Park will host Hero Play Day on Saturday, Aug. 22 at 10 a.m. for infants to 12-year-olds. Families are invited to attend this free community event designed to help children recognize and celebrate their personal heroes.
