BALTIMORE, MD — Celtic Woman will take the stage at the Hippodrome at France-Merrick Performing Arts Center in Baltimore on March 17. The Ancient Land Tour by the all-female ensemble presents a blend of Irish music with contemporary songs.
Much in the tradition of other Irish musicians, such as Enya and Clannad, Celtic Woman performs with beautiful vocals and blended harmony. Their performances are full of energy as they celebrate the history of old Ireland with the new. Get ready to listen to the dynamic vocals of Éabha McMahon, Susan McFadden, Mairéad Carlin, and Tara McNeill, the newest member of the group.

Since forming in 2004, the band has seen huge success. They stayed on the Billboard World Music chart for 81 weeks after the release of their debut album, with sales of over 1 million copies. Now that audiences were captivated, they couldn’t get enough of this performing collective of women.
Numerous PBS specials later and Celtic Woman continued to perform around the world, taking time from touring to produce more albums. Their “Voices of the Angels” album was their 10th to debut in first position on the World Albums music chart.

Ready to release their new CD, “Ancient Land," Celtic Woman is also ready for their 2019 tour first along the East Coast and then the rest of country; the tour ends in November in Liverpool. But before then they hit a score of cities in the US and Canada. The tour makes stops in Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland…as well as California, Washington State and Canada.
And having played for Presidents Clinton, Bush, and Obama, Celtic Woman is once again playing for audiences around the country.
Perhaps Dave Kavanagh, the ensemble's executive director, best describes Celtic Woman - “The show is a joyful fusion of all things Celtic - from bagpipes and bouzouki to Irish dances. But it’s also so much more than that. It’s a universal celebration of life. It’s traditional. It’s contemporary. It’s yesterday, today and tomorrow.”
