Child Found Sobbing, Alone In Stroller In Baltimore Alley: Police

Surveillance video showed a woman pushing the stroller into the Baltimore alley before leaving it there, according to police.

BALTIMORE, MD — Police are asking for the public's help after officers found a young child alone in a stroller in an east Baltimore alley.

Baltimore police said shortly before 11:15 a.m. Friday, officers responded to an alley near the 300 block of East Lafayette Avenue for a child neglect call. According to police, a passerby heard a child sobbing and found him abandoned and restrained in his stroller when they went to investigate.

Police said the child is non-verbal but appeared unharmed. He was taken to a hospital for evaluation and authorities notified Child Protective Services.

According to police, surveillance video showed a woman pushing the stroller into the alley and leaving it there. The woman's identity is unknown, police said, and her connection to the child is unclear.

Anyone with information about the child is asked to call 911 or contact Child Protective Services at 410-361-2235.
