Baltimore Students, Residents Rally For Climate Change
Baltimore's climate strikes happening Friday, Sept. 20 coincide with global demonstrations scheduled ahead of UN Climate Action Summit.
BALTIMORE, MD — Youths around the world will stage a strike Friday, Sept. 20, to draw greater attention to the global climate crisis. The event is expected to be one of the largest environmental protests ever.
Millions of people are expected to walk out of their schools, workplaces and homes to demand reductions in corporate pollution and an end to fossil fuels and environmental destruction.
There are several strikes in Baltimore scheduled to take place Friday, Sept. 20 — at Loyola University, MICA and near the Inner Harbor.

Here is the information about each:
- Baltimore Climate Rally at 12 p.m.; meet at 201 East Pratt Street by the Inner Harbor and march to City Hall at 12:15 p.m., 100 Holliday Street, Baltimore, MD 21202
- Loyola University of Maryland School Strike for Climate Change at 12 p.m.; Loyola Quad, 4501 North Charles Street, Baltimore, MD 21210
- MICA Strike at 11:30 a.m.; Cohen Plaza, 1303 West Mount Royal Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21217
The international protest comes days before the United Nations Climate Action Summit taking place Sept. 23 in New York City, where leaders from government, business and civil society are expected to address the global climate emergency.

"Together, we will sound the alarm and show our politicians that business as usual is no longer an option," the official Global Climate Strike Page states. "The climate crisis won’t wait, so neither will we."
