Coronavirus Concern Closes School In Northeast Baltimore

One elementary school and meal site in northeast Baltimore was closed Monday, according to Baltimore City Public Schools.

BALTIMORE, MD — After a possible coronavirus case was identified in connection with Gardenville Elementary School, officials said the school was closed Monday for deep cleaning.

The closure is in effect Monday, Sept. 21, according to Baltimore City Public Schools.

"This is a precautionary measure after a potential case of COVID-19 was identified," school officials reported.

There are 15,259 cases of the virus in Baltimore as of Monday, according to the Maryland Department of Health. Of those, officials say 1,412 cases are in the 21206 ZIP code, which is where Gardenville Elementary School is located.
