About Enterprise Development Group

The Enterprise Development Group (or EDG) was established in 2001 as a non-profit micro lender, certified as both a Community Development Finance Institution and a Small Business Administration (SBA) intermediary lender. As a community based organization, we prioritize underserved communities – including women, minorities, immigrants and low to moderate income people – to access business financing they may not be able to get elsewhere.

Micro lenders are different from traditional lenders in several ways:

  1. We’re typically more flexible with when it comes to credit problems and collateral
  2. We make smaller loans than most traditional lenders will.
  3. We have higher approval rates for loan applications than traditional lenders
  4. We try to look at the broader aspects of your business, rather than just your credit score
  5. We can provide you with small business support services.

At Enterprise Development Group, we provide several loan products:

  • Small business loans from $500 to $50,000 for both established businesses and startups.
  • Credit builder loans for clients who do not qualify for a small business loan because of credit problems.
  • Used car loans – so you no longer have to take public transportation to get to work.

In addition to these loan products, we also provide:

  • Business development skills training and business coaching
  • Tax assistance programs

Enterprise Development Group has an office in Arlington, Virginia and Baltimore, Maryland and serves the greater Washington, DC and Baltimore metro areas.
