Exploding Manhole Injures Firefighter: Report
There was reportedly an underground fire around North Charles at Lexington streets Monday night in Baltimore.

BALTIMORE, MD — Baltimore firefighters responding to a call downtown were reportedly met with a volatile situation that involved exploding manholes. One firefighter was said to have suffered minor injuries.
After 6:30 p.m. on Monday, the Baltimore Office of Emergency Management reported there was fire activity in the area of North Charles and Lexington streets, and said drivers should anticipate road closures.
Two fire trucks were damaged and one firefighter was injured when several manhole covers popped off in the area, according to WBAL.

The fire started underground and resulted in the temporary evacuation of nearby buildings, WJZ reported.
