Flood Warning Issued As Runoff From Heavy Rain Takes Toll

The flood threat continues Thursday due to the impact of heavy rainfall.

BALTIMORE, MD — The sun may be out Thursday morning but flood dangers remain. The National Weather Service issued a flood warning for parts of central Maryland until Thursday night.

Weather officials say that runoff from the recent heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, underpasses, drainage areas and other low-lying spots.

Flooding was occurring in waterways across the region, based on gauge readings at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
