Flood Watch Issued For 11 Maryland Counties And Baltimore City

A flood watch has been issued for much of Maryland, and weather officials say saturated ground makes the region vulnerable.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch from Thursday to Friday for parts of Maryland. Also included in the watch are swaths of Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.

As a wave of low pressure moves along a stalled front Thursday, showers will spread from southwest to northeast, according to the National Weather Service.

Locally heavy rain is possible and so is flooding, particularly given the saturated ground; a flood watch means there is potential for flooding based on the forecast.
