Key Highway Ramp Reopens After Flooding: Officials

The ramp from I-95 south to Key Highway has reopened, the Maryland Transportation Authority reports.

BALTIMORE, MD — After a brief closure, the ramp from Interstate 95 south to Key Highway has reopened. The Maryland Transportation Authority reported before 7 p.m. that the ramp had reopened.

Baltimore and surrounding areas remain under a flash flood watch until 10 p.m. The National Weather Service issued the watch due to the potential for rapid rainfall as a slow-moving system of thunderstorms moves through the area.

PREVIOUS REPORT: The ramp from Interstate 95 south to Key Highway is closed in south Baltimore Monday evening. The closure took effect before 6:30 p.m.

A flash flood warning is in effect for Baltimore City and Baltimore County, meaning flash flooding is imminent or occurring. Flash flooding is a life-threatening situation in which water levels rapidly rise.

The flash flood warning is in effect until 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 13, for the following:

  • Baltimore City
  • Baltimore County

A flash flood watch is in effect for much of the state until 10 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 13.
