Fort Avenue Building Collapse Under Investigation: Baltimore Fire
Multiple residences in south Baltimore were evacuated Saturday morning after a building partly collapsed, officials said.

BALTIMORE, MD — Firefighters said they handled a partial building collapse Saturday morning in south Baltimore. Debris was visible along the sidewalk next to a structure in the unit block of Fort Avenue, according to Baltimore fire officials.
Adjacent homes were evacuated as a precaution, authorities reported after 11:30 a.m., as multiple agencies were responding to the incident.
Public works officials handled a water main break, while the city's transportation department was called to respond to a sinkhole, fire officials said.

Fort Avenue was closed between South Charles Street and Marshall Street.
Nobody was injured, and the cause of the collapse is under investigation, according to the Baltimore Fire Department.

The damaged structure was a row house for sale, according to The Baltimore Sun.
Bus diversions were in place, the Maryland Transit Administration reported.
