Get Free Ice Cream In Baltimore On Tuesday

You can get a complimentary ice cream on Tuesday to celebrate Free Cone Day.

BALTIMORE, MD — It has started feeling like ice-cream weather in Baltimore. (That is, if you believe it's ever really too cold for ice cream).

With temps in the mid 70s Tuesday afternoon, why not take advantage of Free Cone Day at Häagen-Dazs?

The shop in Harbor East will be handing out a free scoop of ice cream or sorbet in a cup, sugar cone or cake cone to anyone who asks.

Free Cone Day runs from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8, at Haagen-Dazs in Baltimore at 685 President Street, Baltimore, MD 21202.

This year, in addition to handing out free ice cream, Haagen-Dazs is celebrating the contributions of the humble honey bee.

The company's Häagen-Dazs Loves Honey Bees campaign is 10 years old, and the brand is dedicating Free Cone Day to the hard-working pollinators and asking consumers to support the buzz.

According to the company, one-third of the world's foods, including one-third of Häagen-Dazs flavors, are bee dependent. But bees are disappearing at a high rate.

Here's how you can learn more and help:

  • View the world through a bee's perspective, learn about the plight of the honey bee and discover simple ways to help them thrive through The Extraordinary Honey Bee, a new immersive VR experience created by Häagen-Dazs.
  • Donate to the Xerces Society to help reach a goal of planting 1 million acres of habitat for bees.
  • Share about your Free Cone Day experience and spread the word about supporting the bees with the hashtag #hdfreeconeday on social media. Selected posts will be featured on the brand's Instagram account.
