Heavy Snow Forecast For Baltimore, Winter Storm Warning Issued
Baltimore is under a winter storm warning, with the National Weather Service calling for heavy snow this weekend.

BALTIMORE, MD — Get your shovel ready, because it looks like heaps of snow may be headed our way. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for Baltimore City.
The warning calls for 4 to 8 inches of snow in Baltimore. Heavy snow is expected, according to the winter storm warning.
A winter storm warning means that travel will be hazardous or impossible. People should keep an extra flashlight, food and water in their vehicles in case of emergencies.

The winter storm warning is in effect from 7 p.m.on Saturday, Jan. 12, to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 13.
Baltimore City, Baltimore County and Anne Arundel counties are under the warning.

Travel could be very difficult due to snow covered and slippery roads.
Because of the weather, Monday morning commutes and school openings may be affected, according to the Maryland Emergency Management Agency (MEMA); below-freezing temps Sunday night may leave "lingering impacts of the storm in certain areas," MEMA advised.
