Infant Dies At Hospital After Trauma: Police

Police said that an investigation is underway into the death of 5-month-old Brailynn Ford.

BALTIMORE, MD — Police said a 5-month-old baby died over the weekend, days after she was admitted to an area hospital. Homicide detectives from the Baltimore Police Department are on the case.

Detectives from the western district said they were called to an area hospital to investigate a report of an injured infant at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 4.

The baby had signs of trauma to her body, and doctors were caring for her at the hospital, according to police.

Brailynn Ford succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased on Sunday, Oct. 7, according to police.

The baby's body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, where the cause of death was ruled a homicide.
