Learn About Native Birds During 2021 Maryland Park Quest

An annual tradition, Maryland Park Quest will follow a do-it-yourself format this year due to the ongoing pandemic and focuses on birds.

MARYLAND — Learn more about the birds of Maryland and enjoy the great outdoors by participating in the annual Maryland Park Quest, which kicks off May 1. This beloved tradition takes place at more than 25 Maryland state parks and offers opportunities for families to engage in outdoor activities that allow them to experience Maryland's cultural, historical and natural resources found on public lands and at parks.

Hosted by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, the 2021 park quest theme is "Spread Your Wings to Explore Maryland’s State Parks,” and many of the quests will help participants learn more about Maryland’s birds.

Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Maryland Park Quest will not arrange for ranger-led group activities but rather do-it-yourself programs. Participants can download and print park quest worksheets from the Maryland Park Service website. A park quest passport and registration are no longer needed. Participants only need to pay the appropriate day-use service charges at certain participating state parks.
