Light Street To Close For Crane Removal
The Baltimore City Department of Transportation has shared alternate routes due to the closure on Light Street.

BALTIMORE, MD — A portion of Light Street will close for several days so a tower crane can be removed from a construction project downtown. The closure will run from Wednesday to Monday.
The crane was being used to build 1 Light Street, a highrise that will house retail, residential and office space in its 28 stories.
During the Light Street closure, crews will dissemble the tower crane that helped workers construct the skyscraper.

Light Street will be closed between Baltimore and Redwood streets from 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 1, to 5 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 6.
Drivers should use alternate routes because a significant traffic impact is expected, according to the Baltimore City Department of Transportation.

The city's transportation department offered the following alternate routes.
To south Baltimore, from St. Paul Street:
- Right on Chase Street to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, left on Pratt Street, right on Light Street
- Right on Franklin Street, left on Greene Street, left on Pratt Street, right on Light Street
To Interstate 395/I-95/I-295, from St. Paul Street:
- Right onto Chase Street to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, exit at Russell Street for I-295 or continue onto I-395
- At Centre Street, bear right onto “Upper” St. Paul, make a right onto Franklin Street, left onto Greene Street to Russell Street, and take the ramp to I-95 or go straight for I-295.
