Man Dies After House Fire In Northwest Baltimore: Officials

A man rescued from a house fire Wednesday night later died, Baltimore fire officials reported.

BALTIMORE, MD — A 93-year-old man died after being pulled from a burning home in northwest Baltimore Wednesday night, city fire officials said. Smoke was showing from the second floor of the two-story rowhouse when crews arrived.

Firefighters were dispatched for a report of a house fire in the 3800 block of Pall Mall Road after 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 9.

During a primary search of the residence, officials said they found and rescued the man, who was unconscious, and began performing CPR. He was taken to an area hospital in cardiac arrest and was pronounced deceased at 10:30 p.m., fire officials reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
