'The Wire' Actor Escapes From Good Samaritan Hospital: Report
Police said Christopher Clanton Sr. was in the custody of law enforcement when he escaped from Good Samaritan Hospital.

BALTIMORE, MD — Officials said a man in police custody escaped Friday from Good Samaritan Hospital. He is known to frequent the Harford Road corridor, authorities said.
Christopher Clanton Sr., 33, was arrested Thursday, Sept. 12, for violating a protective order, according to the Baltimore Police Department.
Clanton played the character Savino Bratten on The Wire and a street kid on The Corner, which kicked off his acting career at age 12, according to IMDb.

He was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital at 5601 Loch Raven Boulevard before going to central booking downtown Thursday due to a preexisting medical condition, officials said. At the hospital he escaped police custody, according to authorities.
His disappearance caught the attention of BET, which shared the story of his escape and what it called "bizarre status" update on Facebook about what transpired in the hospital.

Clanton went missing "earlier today," the Baltimore Police Department reported after 9:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13.
A man who identified himself as Clanton posted on Facebook that he left the hospital at 10:30 a.m. and "basically walked out of the front door" after one of the officers had allegedly been snorting cocaine and threatened to plant a gun on Clanton and shoot him.
Clanton is described as 6 feet tall and about 165 pounds.
A spokesperson for the Baltimore Police Department said the agency was not aware of the Facebook post and said the man remained at large, according to The Baltimore Sun. Clanton told the paper that he was arrested trying to locate his son after the child's mother was arrested.
