Maryland Week Ahead Weather: Rain, Rain, Rain

BALTIMORE, MD — We can expect some rain in Maryland this week, especially in the Baltimore area, with a chance of either rain or thunderstorms throughout the week except for the daytime on Tuesday.

Columbus Day, we are seeing patchy fog through the late morning and potential thunderstorms as well as strong winds off the coast, so boaters beware. This morning, we're seeing winds of up to 20 miles per hour over land and a 100 percent chance of precipitation in the afternoon.

The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook for Monday warning of potential gale force winds in the waters off the coast of Maryland. Gale force winds are between 39 and 54 miles per hour.

High temperatures throughout the week should remain comfortable, with a high of 83 Monday giving way to highs in the high 60's and low 70's later in the week. The coldest temperature we should see this week is the low of 60 on Thursday night.

After a break from the rain on Tuesday, we can expect pockets of showers throughout the rest of the week.

Columbus Day: Showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 5pm. Patchy fog between 9am and noon. High near 83. Breezy, with a south wind 9 to 14 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Tonight: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8pm, then a slight chance of showers between 8pm and 11pm. Patchy fog after 5am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 68. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tuesday: Patchy fog before 8am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 82. Calm wind.

Tuesday Night: A slight chance of showers after 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Wednesday: A chance of showers, mainly after 8am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 72. East wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Wednesday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 62. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Thursday: A chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 69. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
