MD Boy, 10, Bitten By Shark In The Bahamas: Police
Bahamian police said the boy was participating in a shark tank exhibition at a Paradise Island resort when he was bitten.
PARADISE ISLAND, BAHAMAS — A 10-year-old boy from Maryland was bitten by a shark while visiting the Bahamas, according to police.
In a news release, the Royal Bahamas Police Force said the boy was bitten shortly before 4 p.m. Monday while participating in a shark tank exhibition at a resort on Paradise Island. Police did not identify the resort.
According to authorities, the child was bitten on the right leg. He was taken to the hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, police said.

No other details were immediately available. The incident remains under investigation, police said.
The incident happened a month after a 44-year-old woman from Boston was killed by a shark while paddleboarding off the coast of a Bahamian resort, according to a USA Today report. The woman was less than a mile from shore near a Sandals resort in New Providence when the attack happened, the report said.
