MD Coronavirus Positivity Above 5%, Hospitalizations Top 700
Hospitalizations related to coronavirus are at the highest levels since mid-June, according to Gov. Larry Hogan.
MARYLAND — The coronavirus positivity rate in Maryland is above 5 percent for the first time since June, state health officials reported Monday. Hospitalizations are also up to the highest levels since June 17, according to Gov. Larry Hogan.
More than 700 people are hospitalized with the virus in Maryland, the Maryland Department of Health reported Monday morning.
"While our state has been preparing for this fall surge for the past eight months, we cannot afford to let our guard down," Hogan said. "Wear a mask, wash your hands, and watch your distance."

The positivity rate on a rolling, seven-day average is 5.05 percent statewide, the Maryland Department of Health reported Monday, Nov. 9. Half of the state's 24 jurisdictions have positivity rates above 5 percent.
"Maryland has reached a critical turning point in our fight against COVID19," Hogan said in a statement Monday morning. "We will continue to keep Marylanders informed in the days ahead."
