Mother, Boyfriend Charged in Starvation, Beating Death of 1-Year-Old
A Baltimore couple are charged with murder in the death of a one-year-old boy, who was starved and beaten before he died, police say.
BALTIMORE, MD — A Baltimore woman and her boyfriend have both been charged with second-degree murder in the August death of a one-year-old boy in the northwest part of the city, according to the Baltimore Police Department.
On Monday, detectives arrested Brian Johns, 30, and Brittley Brown, 26, both of the 2600 block of Shirley Avenue. They are charged with second-degree murder in the death of Brown's one-year-old son, Jayden Johnson.
Autopsy results show the child died from malnutrition, dehydration and blunt force trauma, authorities said.

Police were called to the family's home in the 2600 block of Shirley Avenue on Aug. 30 when Jayden stopped breathing. Baltimore City medics performed CPR on the baby, who was taken to Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
