MPT's Chesapeake Collectibles returns in June with part one of its 13th season
One of Maryland Public Television's flagship series to deliver a season of surprises from collectors across the Chesapeake region
Maryland Public Television’s popular original series Chesapeake Collectibles returns for its 13th season with a treasure trove of captivating finds beginning on Monday, June 1. A preview of the new season is available to view at this link.
Chesapeake Collectibles’ new episodes will be broadcast on MPT and available on the MPT livestream on Mondays at 7:30 p.m., immediately preceding the acclaimed PBS series Antiques Roadshow.
Part one of the new season will feature seven episodes through mid-July. Part two of Chesapeake Collectibles’ 13th season, comprised of six new episodes, will premiere in January 2027 in conjunction with Antiques Roadshow’s season premiere.

Encore broadcasts of episodes air on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on MPT2 and the MPT2 livestream. Viewers can also find full episodes of the series anytime on MPT's online video player and the free PBS app.

The series’ team of expert appraisers evaluates thousands of items during each season’s taping event, but only a handful are selected to appear in front of the cameras: rare artifacts with local ties, dazzling works of art collected by unwitting connoisseurs, first editions signed by literary legends, pop culture memorabilia steeped in childhood nostalgia, and the weird and wonderful finds of eagle-eyed treasure hunters. Unpacking these stories is the key to every conclusion, unlocking the answer to the question on everyone’s mind: What’s it worth?

EPISODE SUMMARIES
Episode 1 (June 1): During the season premiere, experts evaluate a radical abstract painting by a female artist from Pakistan and a custom-made, lead-lined bronze lamp depicting the Crusades. The journey continues with a stunning 18-karat gold Rolex and a classic Pennsylvania long rifle steeped in frontier history. Finally, a vinyl collection yields a "holy grail" – a rare recording by Delta Blues icon Robert Johnson. Fans of the series can get an early look at the season’s first episode by using this link.
Episode 2 (June 8): Episode two reveals the extraordinary stories hidden within everyday objects. From the hushed corridors of the White House to the bright lights of Broadway, segments explore a treasure trove of historical items. Appraisers discover a collection of luxury timepieces, a rare silver menorah with an elusive past, and poignant Civil War relics that tell a tale of family sacrifice.
Episode 3 (June 15): Episode three dives into a fascinating selection of stories, from satirical military traditions to the birth of the digital age. Appraisers examine an evocative maritime painting with deep roots in Baltimore’s infamous Block and power up one of the world's first personal computers. Viewers also learn about the annual “wallow" of a century-old fraternal order, and marvel at a rare Soviet propaganda plate found at a local flea market.
Episode 4 (June 22): The fourth episode features treasures from Maryland’s past. Appraisers examine 19th-century manumission papers linked to the Oblate Sisters of Providence and a sterling silver punch bowl that served Washington, D.C.’s elite. Viewers also get a look at a unique collection of John F. Kennedy memorabilia from Havre de Grace, a salesman's vibrant sample book of antique lithographic wrapping paper, and a Winchester rifle renowned as the "gun that won the West."
Episode 5 (June 29): From historic engravings to a collection of nostalgic Baltimore cigar bands, this episode offers a look at a diverse range of treasures. Viewers will marvel at an iconic Audubon elephant folio print that leaves its owner stunned by its value, be moved by a poignant Civil War soldier’s diary, and examine the intricate craftsmanship of vintage Thai demon masks. Finally, the episode journeys through cinema history with an extensive collection of 2001: A Space Odyssey memorabilia.
Chesapeake Collectibles has launched its YouTube page, offering fans of the series content including segments from past seasons, behind-the-scenes videos, and the digital series Tales from the Table, in which appraisers discuss their history with the show and recount their favorite experiences.
