Northeast Maglev adds Kris Frederes, Joseph Rosenthal
Northeast Maglev announced that it has hired Kris Frederes as Project Manager and Joseph Rosenthal as Assistant Project Manager.
Northeast Maglev today announced that it has hired Kris Frederes as Project Manager and Joseph Rosenthal as Assistant Project Manager.
Project Manager Kris Frederes will play a key role in developing the project implementation and construction plan for Northeast Maglev’s efforts to bring a high-speed rail solution in the Northeast Corridor using Superconducting Maglev (SCMAGLEV) technology. He brings 20 years of project management experience to the company, touting a portfolio of large civil and transportation projects and extensive knowledge in both technical and managerial aspects of the work. Frederes previously served as a Project Manager for Cianbro, a Baltimore-based construction and construction services company. In that role, Frederes managed the Maryland Transit Authority-led rehabilitation of the Curtis Creek Draw Bridge, an effort that included the rehabilitation of structural, mechanical and electrical components.
From 2008 to 2017, Frederes rose in the ranks at Irving, Texas-based Fluor Corporation. After serving as a Quality Manager on the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s World Trade Center Transportation Hub project, he worked in Denver, Colo., as a Construction Support Engineer on the Eagle P3 Commuter Rail Expansion. As Project Engineer for Fluor from 2013 to 2017, Frederes was assigned to the multi-billion dollar Tappan Zee Hudson River Crossing Project. Known as the single largest bridge construction project in New York’s history, the project involved replacing a 3.1-mile twin span cable-stayed bridge with angled main span towers.

Frederes earned his MS in Industrial Engineering from Clemson University. He also holds an MBA in Strategic Management and Leadership, along with a BS in Business Administration, from the State University of New York. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), and a Certified Welding Inspector (AWS CWI).
Assistant Project Manager Joseph Rosenthal will be responsible for driving the integrated schedule for Northeast Maglev’s efforts to bring the SCMAGLEV to the Northeast Corridor. He brings considerable project management experience to Northeast Maglev, coming to the private sector after spending more than six years as a U.S. Army Logistics Officer. He remains in service as an Army Reservist out of Fort Meade.

Prior to joining Northeast Maglev, Rosenthal served as a Support Operations Plans Officer for the 82nd Airborne Division. In that role, he was responsible for management and execution of a large-scale supporting operation known as the Global Reaction Force, capable of deploying a unit of 4,213 personnel and their equipment in less than 72 hours. Rosenthal served in various roles with the U.S. Army, including supervising a movement task force for Special Forces training across a 250-mile radius. He also served in Korea with the 4-7 Ground Cavalry.
Rosenthal earned his commission through the Military College of Vermont, Norwich University, achieving a BS in Mechanical Engineering.
