Orioles Offer Free Tickets To Kids 9 And Younger

Adults buying tickets at Camden Yards can get tickets for kids for free through one of several family friendly initiatives at the ballpark.

BALTIMORE, MD โ€” The Baltimore Orioles will offer free tickets to fans who are 9 years old and younger. The program is called "Kids Cheer Free" and was announced Monday, weeks before the start of the season.

Through the Kids Cheer Free initiative, an adult who buys an upper deck ticket will enable will be able to add up to two additional free seats for kids 9 and younger on the upper deck as ewll.

The tickets will be available on a month-by-month basis, Orioles officials said. As of Monday, people can buy tickets for games from March 31 to April 29 and take advantage of the Kids Cheer Free program.

"The Orioles' mission, and that of the national game of baseball, is to cast a broad community outreach, and that effort starts with thoughtfully expanding our initiatives benefiting kids and families," Orioles Executive Vice President John Angelos said in a statement. "The Orioles are committed to sustaining the access for families from all walks of life to our great game, and that commitment is reflected in the Kids Cheer Free initiative and our many other family-focused programs."

There are several programs that cater to children this season at Camden Yards, according to the Orioles:

  • A new interactive tree house and jungle gym will open as part of the kids corner near gate C. Favorites such as a moon bounce, skee-ball and bobbleheads will remain. There will be new food and video options and a lounge area for parents.
  • Kids' Opening Day on Sunday, April 1, will feature a bird bank giveaway, face painting, running of the bases and more fun for kids at the 1:05 p.m. game against the Minnesota Twins.
  • The Orioles will expand its "Friday Fireworks" program to occur Fridays from May through August. Starting in May, Friday games will feature musical performances leading into the fireworks show.
  • Small, medium and large food offerings will be added to the menu this season at different price points.
  • There are family restrooms, nursing stations and stroller parking, among other offerings for parents.
  • After every Sunday home game, kids ages 4 to 14 can run the bases after the game.
