Police Rescue Man From Inner Harbor

Using a life ring, the officers from the Baltimore Police Department performed an early morning water rescue Monday off Pratt Street.

BALTIMORE, MD — Police said a man was hospitalized after being rescued from the Inner Harbor early Monday morning. Baltimore police officers saved the man, who said he could not swim, according to authorities.

Officials were called at 2:15 a.m. for a report of a disturbance in the 200 block of East Pratt Street. The responding officer was informed someone was in the water, according to the Baltimore Police Department.

After officers used a life ring to get the man to safety, he was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Police said his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The water temperature was 45 degrees Fahrenheit Monday in Baltimore, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
