Popular Pizza-in-a-Cone Franchise Opens First Location in Baltimore
Local entrepreneur to roll out Kono To-Go kiosk in White Marsh Mall.

Hungry shoppers in Baltimore can soon experience what it’s like to eat their favorite savory or sweet snack served in a freshly baked cone-shaped crust. Kono To-Go – Fresh Eats, Treats & Sweets will open its first kiosk in Baltimore on December 6 at the White Marsh Mall located at 8200 Perry Hall Blvd.
Setting aside the traditional triangle or square-cut pizza slice, Kono To-Go offers consumers an “out-of-the-box” pizza experience with its cone-shaped crust. Filled with fresh, high quality ingredients, with its dough sauce imported straight from Italy, the cones are then baked in the brand’s proprietary oven in just three minutes. The menu features six pizza cone options, as well as breakfast and dessert cones to satisfy all your cravings.
The new Kono To-Go is owned and operated by Tony Murphy. After 27 years of service in the U.S. Air Force, Murphy was ready for the next phase of his career. After discovering Kono Pizza and seeing the possibility of bringing a cutting-edge product to the local market, Murphy was hooked. The White Marsh Mall kiosk is the first of three Kono To-Go’s that he plans to open in the Baltimore area. A second location is slated to open later this year in the Annapolis Mall along with a third location in the Arundel Mills Mall in mid-2017.

“Our new Kono To-Go kiosk offers consumers a way to enjoy a delicious snack on the fly,” Murphy said. “They can be eaten the same way as an ice cream cone, except with biting instead of licking. The soft, hot, baked crust wraps perfectly around the fillings to form just the right size treat to tide you over to your next meal.”
Those with a sweet tooth will enjoy the wide variety of dessert cones, including the Ghiradelli® cones stuffed with the world famous premium chocolate and an assortment of other sweet fillings. A variation of the classic Italian dessert tiramisu – filled with savoiardo biscuit, coffee syrup and tiramisu cream – and a variety of cannoli cones are also available for an easy to eat snack between meals.
