Port of Baltimore Partners For Arlington Echo Living Shoreline

Over 5,000 grasses were planted along the 400 feet of shoreline as part of the project to help provide habitat and protection from erosion.

The MDOT Maryland Port Administration partnered to fund the construction of a living shoreline along the Severn River at Arlington Echo. On August 1, Arlington Echo’s Friendship Camp helped celebrate the completion of the project by planting shoreline grasses.

Over 5,000 grasses were planted along the 400 feet of shoreline as part of the project to help provide habitat and protection from erosion. For the Port’s partnership, the construction helps provide stormwater management credits to the MDOT Maryland Port Administration.

Other partners for the project included Anne Arundel County Public Schools, the Chesapeake Bay Trust, Maryland Environmental Service and Flood Brothers.
