Pregnant MD Firefighter A 'True Public Servant' After Accident
Baltimore County firefighter Megan Warfield put aside her own safety to help others after she was involved in a serious car crash.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — With just days remaining before the arrival of her daughter, a pregnant Maryland firefighter put service before self when she rushed to another person's aid following a car accident.
Megan Warfield, a volunteer firefighter with the Bowleys Quarters Volunteer Fire Department and a career Baltimore County firefighter, was on her way home after hosting an annual golf tournament in honor of her late father when she and another vehicle were involved in a serious crash, Bowleys Quarters fire officials said in a Facebook post.
Despite her pregnancy, Warfield didn't hesitate before springing into action, fire officials said.

"Ignoring any chance she could be injured, Megan immediately exited her mangled vehicle and began providing care to a person trapped by their overturned car," according to the fire department's post.
"Since no good deed should go unrecognized, we wanted to highlight Megan's heroic and selfless actions," the post continued.

According to fire officials, Warfield waited with the other victim until firefighters and medics arrived. First responders then evaluated the victim and Warfield. The post did not say if Warfield was injured.
Less than 24 hours later, however, Warfield gave birth to a baby girl, fire officials said.
In their post, fire officials commended Warfield's actions.
She's a "true public servant and warrior," they said.
