Faith communities can join the fight to raise awareness about Alzheimer's disease by hosting an Alzheimer’s Association Purple Power Worship. Participants schedule when to hold the event at a house of worship, and the Alzheimer's Association Greater Maryland Chapter provides free educational material with an outline on how to present the event. “Some congregation set aside a part of the worship service to present information and others schedule a separate day that is centered around memory loss,” says Marlyn Taylor, diversity and inclusion program manager. Each year, participations grows, with 2022 being the 11th anniversary for the outreach effort.

“Most faith communities have an holistic approach to serving their members, and Purple Power Worship addresses the mind, body and the spirit,” says Taylor.
