Rue 21 Closing Two Baltimore Stores
The teen clothing retailer will shutter two of its Baltimore locations to focus on its online business.

BALTIMORE, MD — The Rue 21 clothing stores in Mondawmin Mall and Security Square Mall are among those the chain plans to close.
One-third of the retailer's stores will shutter as Rue 21 focuses on its online sales, according to CBS News.
The closures will leave Rue 21 with more than 700 stores in 48 states.

"It’s true – we are closing some stores," the retailer said on its Facebook page. "It was a difficult but necessary decision. We still have hundreds of locations across the country, and our website rue21.com, open for business."
The chain is filing for bankruptcy, according to a Milwaukee Business Journal report Monday. There was no word from the company on a date for the closings, but its website is promoting store-closing sales.
