Winter Weather Advisory Extended in 4 Counties
BREAKING: Sleet and freezing rain are slated to continue Saturday evening, National Weather Service advises.

UPDATE (6 p.m.) โ The National Weather Service has extended the winter weather advisory until 11 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14, for a handful of Maryland counties. Now Baltimore, Carroll, Frederick and Harford counties remain until 11 p.m. under the advisory, which was set to expire at 6 p.m. Saturday.
Sleet and freezing rain were expected to continue Saturday night, with the potential for a trace of sleet and ice to accumulate, weather officials said, particularly near the Pennsylvania border.
Icy patches may have developed on roads, which will be slippery, according to the advisory, which was issued because periods of snow, sleet and freezing rain could make travel hazardous.

Temperatures will be in the low 30s.
Cecil and Kent counties are under a separate winter weather advisory until midnight for snow, sleet and freezing rain, with a light glaze of ice and up to an inch of snow forecast, according to weather officials.

PREVIOUS ADVISORY โ The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for snow, sleet and freezing rain in parts of Maryland. The advisory โ effective from 4 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14 โ calls for up to 1 inch of snow and a trace of ice.
Included in the advisory are Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford and Howard counties.
There will be icy patches on the roads, according to weather officials, who issue winter weather advisories when wintry weather is expected to make travel hazardous.
Visibility may be limited, and drivers should use extra caution.
Temperatures are expected to be around 30 degrees.
