SBLC Appoints Jacqueline Ober Development and Marketing Manager

SBLC is a community-based nonprofit providing adults functional literacy, life skills training and career preparation services.

SBLC, a community-based nonprofit providing adults functional literacy, life skills training and career preparation services, has appointed Jacqueline Ober development and marketing manager.

In her new position, Ober will manage the development and marketing strategies for SBLC, including annual and major giving, sponsorship drives, social media campaigns and fundraising events.

Prior to her arrival at SBLC, Ober served as alumnae director at The Bryn Mawr School, where she managed the activities of the Alumnae Association board, planned events for alumnae and students, assisted with annual fund stewardship and provided content for alumnae publications.

She has also served as manager of philanthropic development at Green & Healthy Homes Initiative; development manager at Blind Industries and Services of Maryland; and marketing and development associate for Greater Homewood Community Corporation.

Active in the community, Ober is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. In addition, she serves as vice president of The Foundation for the Promotion of Individual Opportunity, Inc., and is a former member of the board of directors and development committees of Colonial Dames of America, Inc. of New York and Colonial Dames of America, Chapter I.

For nearly 30 years, SBLC has provided a supportive, rigorous and transformative education to adults of all ages and backgrounds who are eager to learn, motivated to succeed and committed to making a difference in their lives and in the lives of others. Students may pursue the GED program or National External Diploma Program. When a student completes either program, he/she receives a Maryland State High School Diploma.
