School Closings For Jan 8 2018 In Baltimore City
Schools in Baltimore City will operate on a modified schedule on Monday, Jan. 8, due to weather.

BALTIMORE, MD — Public schools in Baltimore City will close three hours early on Monday, Jan. 8, school officials have announced. All afternoon and evening activities have been canceled.
School officials cited the impending inclement weather for the early dismissal, as the region was under a winter weather advisory for freezing rain during the Monday afternoon and evening hours.
Rec centers will open at 11 a.m. in Baltimore City to provide snacks for children.

Guilford Elementary/Middle School, Medfield Heights Elementary School and Independence School Local I dismissed at 10:15 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 8, due to heating issues, officials reported.
Lakewood Elementary School dismissed at 8 a.m. due to a pipe that burst, according to Baltimore City Schools.

Bay Brook Elementary/Middle School, Calverton Elementary/Middle School, Furley Elementary and James McHenry Elementary/Middle School were closed for students on Monday, Jan. 8.
School officials said that BGE, the mayor and other city officials have been working to resolve system-wide heating problems.
