In addition to its scholarship program, the SECU MD Foundation supports a number of efforts to increase financial wellness and educate youth in the community. Through Finance Fairs, the Foundation provides high school and college students with a first-hand, interactive experience in managing money in a ‘real world’ setting to help them make smart, informed financial decisions in their daily lives.

“As a local credit union, it is our mission and the mission of the SECU MD Foundation to provide children and young adults with the experience, knowledge and resources needed to make smart, informed financial decisions. As we reach over a half million in scholarship donations, we are very honored to see hundreds of students over the years graduate with a stronger financial start,” said Dave Sweiderk, CEO of SECU. “We are incredibly proud of these students for pursuing higher education at prestigious schools across the country.”
