Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued For Baltimore Metro Area
BREAKING: There may be 60 mph wind gusts with the storm, the National Weather Service warns.
BALTIMORE — A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for the Baltimore metro area until 7:15 p.m. on Friday, June 28. The warning calls for 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-sized hail.
The severe thunderstorm warning impacts parts of Anne Arundel County, Baltimore County and Baltimore City.
Radar indicated a severe thunderstorm was near Brooklyn Park at 6:34 p.m., and it was moving east at 5 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

These locations may be impacted, according to the warning: Baltimore, Fort Smallwood State Park, Millers Island, North Point State Park, Back River, Dundalk, Pasadena, Brooklyn Park, Edgemere, Lansdowne, Fort Howard and Eastpoint.
During the severe thunderstorm warning period, people should go inside to stay safe and move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.

Do not drive underneath wooded areas until the threat has passed, as trees and branches may fall. Roads may become blocked by downed trees, and localized power outages are possible, according to the warning.
