Teen Injured In Shooting Outside High School In Baltimore: Police

A 19-year-old was shot and injured outside a Baltimore City high school Monday, according to the Baltimore Police Department.

BALTIMORE, MD — A shooting outside a Baltimore City school is under investigation, according to police. Students were reportedly dismissed early from the high school after a teen was shot and injured by a masked individual.

Officers were called to the 2200 block of Pinewood Avenue in northeastern Baltimore for a reported shooting at 1:56 p.m. Monday, according to the Baltimore Police Department.

Police said a 19-year-old was shot in the thigh outside Achievement Academy.

After someone came up to him and began shooting at him, police said the teen ran into the school for help, and he was taken to an area hospital for treatment of his injury.

The shooter was wearing a light-colored mask and dark clothing, according to police. Officials have not located the suspect.

The 19-year-old student was shot in the parking lot in what police said was a targeted attack, according to WJZ, which reported the motive was unknown but robbery had been ruled out.

Multiple bullet casings were found near the SUV the student drove to school after the altercation, according to WBAL, which reported students were dismissed at 3 p.m. following the incident.

Typically, dismissal at Achievement Academy is 3:20 p.m.
