'Significant' MARC Train Delays Due To Police Activity: MTA

BALTIMORE, MD — Police activity in Baltimore on Friday afternoon will cause delays for commuters taking the MARC train, according to authorities. Specifically, those on the Camden line will be affected. The Camden line — which travels between Baltimore's Camden Station and Washington's Union Station — includes stops at Dorsey Station, Laurel, Greenbelt, College Park and Riverdale.

MARC travelers that use the Camden line will experience "significant delays," the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) stated in an advisory before 4 p.m. on Friday, April 5.

MARC 853 was currently holding at Camden Station, according to the advisory.

After 4:30 p.m., officials issued this update: "Camden Line Train 853 (dpt Camden 3:40p) original crew and equipment continues to hold in Camden Station waiting for police to clear scene. MARC 855 will depart early from Dorsey Station to assist with accommodation of MARC 853 passengers. Train 853 has departed Dorsey Station operating with a 28-minute delay. Original MARC 853 equipment and crew will depart Dorsey operating on the MARC 855 schedule once released from Camden Station."

After 4 p.m., the MTA reported that Camden Line Train 850 departing from Union Station at 4:13 p.m. was cancelled; passengers would be accommodated on MARC 852, leaving Union Station at 4:43 p.m., officials advised.

Camden Line Train 857 departing Camden Station at 5:20 p.m. is cancelled. Passengers will be accommodated on MARC 859, leaving Camden Station at 6:15 p.m.

Camden Line Train 858 departing Washington at 6:55 p.m. is cancelled. Passengers will be accommodated on MARC 860, leaving at 7:45 p.m.
