Soiree With OJ Raises More Than $100,000 To Help People With AlS

Annual Birthday Bash Helps People with ALS Thrive With Purpose and Passion

On October 5th, the Brigance Brigade Foundation, an organization that supports people battling ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease) and their families created by former NFL player O.J. Brigance and his wife Chanda, celebrated Brigance’s 49th birthday and honored all those battling ALS at the 4th annual Soiree with O.J., presented by Schochor, Federico and Staton, P.A. More than $100,000 was raised to equip, encourage and empower people living with ALS by providing access to needed equipment, support services and resource guidance.

Soirée with O.J. was held at the Valley Mansion by Martin’s in Cockeysville, MD and featured O.J. Brigance as the special guest speaker. WBAL’s Keith Mills and Deborah Weiner emceed the evening’s program which also included remarks from Liz Haslup, a caregiver who spoke about her 14-year journey with her husband, Dave, who battled ALS. The Mohler Brothers and E-Team, started in honor of the ALS battle of Dr. Emile R. Mohler, III was honored as part of the Brigance Brigade Foundation Champion’s Circle for their tremendous support of the mission over the last few years. Soiree guests also enjoyed live music performed by Nightlife, a silent auction, delicious food and drinks, and special guests from the Baltimore Ravens including Tony Jefferson, Sam Koch, Alex Lewis, and a special rendition of ‘Happy Birthday’ performed by Kicker Justin Tucker.

“What a night we had at the Soiree! We danced, we were inspired and most importantly, we came together to raise funds and awareness for people in a really difficult battle,” said Amanda Mummert, Foundation Director. “Our vision is to realize a world where those touched by ALS thrive and the funds raised at the Soiree will support families in our community and allow them to define their quality of life.”
